Marella Farfallario Bowties Organic Pasta from Italy
Hailing from the southern province of Bari in the “heel” of Italy, these Zebra Farfalline are made from a blend of organic, IGP-certified hard (durum) wheats. While industrially-produced pastas are typically made with Teflon-coated steel dies, Marella is extruded through a bronze die, giving a rougher surface texture that better holds sauce. The dark stripes come from squid ink in the pasta, giving it a slight briny flavor when cooked.
